"I've found treasures over the years at Goodwill and as of late I have seen the clientele list expanding to those for whom a trip to a thrift store even a year ago would have been unthinkable. In this economy, though, we all have to tighten our belts, and we can even find a nice belt at Goodwill for usually less than two dollars."

"We need help immediately.  We had to leave our apartment because the rent was too high, and no assistant programs in our county are able to help us because we dont have children or do not have enough income to get help.  And no apartment complex is willing to work with someone who was asked to leave because they couldnt pay their rent.   If anyone knows how to get some help... the knowledge would be greatly appreciated.  thank you"

"I stopped eating out. I had to because I was spending about $100/week. I don't know how to cook so the microwave has been getting a lot of love."

"Re:Joshua, I have recently gone back to school. I started out taking one class at a time and working 20 hours a week. So far it has gone fine. It can be a little stressful at times but overall I have an A so I’m happy with that. I think getting the right balance of classes and work is important."

"I've been looking for a job for a few months and decided to go back to school. I've been out of school for a long time and am kind of nervous. Has anyone else gone back to school recently or is anyone thinking about going back?"

"Another article - there's a lot of coverage lately on the Post about thrift living."

"Another good article from the Washington Post talks about discovering ways to find freebies, take advantage of online deals, creatively use coupons and what restaurants and businesses are giving away free products to attract customers."

"The Washington Post published an article on how to find something for nothing, especially if you're willing to look online. Some of the things they mention were where to get free kids’ meals, a free place to stay when you’re traveling, and how to get free, unused goodies. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/04/18/AR2009041800137.html"
